In my work color and form are not limited by their usual purpose of representing the object. They become a tool in constructing a new pictorial world - my own dimension. I start with nature as an inspiration. As a theme for my work it provides a refuge, a solace from the antics of civilization reminding of our roots and belonging. I gather a variety of its forms to lose their strict meaning so they gain a new one in the space that is being created. Exploration of nature's colors and forms is compiled with my emotions and memories so a painting becomes a field where our two separated worlds meet. Thus my art process is a conversation with myself and surrounding world, acknowledging a mystery. |
